Top 10 Jobs in Canada in 2023, Skills that permit workers to take jobs in numerous industries – rather than being limited to only one – are in hot demand and permit some employees in key positions to command top dollar for their expertise.
But not all job hunters are faring as well. Randstad estimates the top job skills sought by employers are:
- customer service;
- scheduling;
- sales;
- cleaning;
- repair;
- budgeting;
- project management;
- quality control;
- administrative support, and;
- accounting.
Although the intermediate weekly earnings of a worker in Canada increased by 0.9 percent to hit $1,170 in March, some sectors did more nicely than others.

Software Developer (NOC 2174)
As the individuals who write, change, integrate and test computer code for software applications, data processing applications, operating systems-level software, and communications software, these knowledge technology pros are in a hot market.
“This is one of the top careers in part because companies of all types and sizes need designers to create app solutions, develop or sustain in-house software or help enforce cloud or other technologies,” notes Randstad.
Controller – Financial Services (NOC 0111)
Buttons run the financial processes and analysis departments of businesses and can earn between $80,000 and $150,000 perennial, notes Randstad.
“Larger companies generally pay more, and regulators who are capable of overseeing economic departments or act as managers in calculation halls typically earn the most,” notes the human help firm.
Plant Manager (NOC 0911)
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the market for plant supervisors soared as many experienced employees chose to retire before to no longer had to follow typical offices.
Customer demand, though, didn’t go away and plants needed to continue operating and even increase their efficiency levels and cost conserving to remain in the game.
Computer Applications Manager (NOC 0213)
These are the software professionals who manage the gangs that lead teams and coach junior judges. It’s a big job because their teams can be accountable for the tech that runs an entire company.

Marketing directors in Canada can earn up to about $131,250 per year based on a normal work week of 37.5 hours, so this is a well-paid job.

“Marketing directors generally have experience in one or more transaction methods, having worked their way up from more basic transaction positions via the years,” notes Randstad. “Part of the explanation they’re paid so well is that they’re highly reliable for brand messaging, a factor that can make or break a company.”
Sales Manager (NOC 0601)
Business growth is a highly important aspect of any business and so top sales experts can command wages of $85,000 to $100,000 even when they are just starting.
“With knowledge and a proven track record, they can earn as much as $175,000 yearly,” notes Randstad. “They close exchanges and develop new client connections. It brings revenue in, which is why businesses are willing to pay a bonus for the best skill.”
Cloud Architect (NOC 2171)
Cloud architects are the ideal example of how staying in school and growing expertise in an area can lead to big rewards upon graduation.
These are the people who study and test computer systems, develop and implement communication technology action plans, policies and practices and give critically-important advice on a range of systems problems.
Electrical Engineer (NOC 2133)
It begins with wages in the $80,000 to $100,000 capacity in Canada and can gain up to $132,600 yearly established on a normal work week, according to Job Bank.
“Electrical engineers that work in energy and manufacturing plants to enjoy the most competitive income,” notes Randstad.
